JAY Z was violently attacked by Beyoncé's sister Solange

UPDATE:  TMZ published extended video of Solange physically attacking Jay Z in an elevator at New York's Standard hotel last Monday (May 5). The Houston native takes a couple more swings at Hov before the elevator doors open on the lobby floor. While both stars, as well as Beyoncé, walked out of the building together, Solange was joined by her sister in a separate car from Jay.

In confirming that the footage was indeed of its elevator, the hotel promised to flush out the source of the leaked surveillance. "We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing to our guests," the Standard said in a statement obtained by the Hollywood Reporter. "We are investigating the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."

So far, no one in the Knowles-Carter camp is talking but accoding to reports, Bey may have hinted to some kind of turmoil via a post on Instagram last Wednesday (May 7).

A woman who appears to be Solange was caught on video physically attacking Jay Z after the Met Gala in New York City last week. TMZ grabbed footage from an elevator surveillance camera from the Standard hotel showing Solo — still in her gown from the gala — repeatedly kicking and leaping at Hov.

Jay, also still dressed up in a white tux, puts his hands up as a defense, but she keeps swinging at him. A bodyguard holds the 27-year-old back, yet it doesn't stop her from lunging at her brother-in-law again and again. Beyoncé appears to be in the elevator as well, but didn't intercede during the fight.

The footage doesn't have any sound, but Solange looks like she's screaming at the Roc Nation mogul throughout most of the video. Toward the end of the clip, she is seen still yelling at him while her arms are being held behind her back. Someone on the elevator also pulls the emergency break at one point during the incident. 

Solange has never publicly shown any bad blood towards Jigga Man. It is unclear what may have started the fight. 

A rep for Jay Z did not respond to BET.com's request for comment by press time.
