Group of youth in Kenya wants Marijuana to be legalized

A group of youth in Nyeri calling itself “merchant of peace and prosperity” has urged the government to legalize Marijuana. The more than 10 members who claim they are “Rastafarians” said the government has been targeting them because of using marijuana yet the narcotic is “harmless.”

They said they were aware of the consequences if caught with the drug but were not afraid of being jailed. They said what worries them most was the misconception the government and the public have towards the narcotic. Speaking yesterday, a member the group, John Wanjohi, claimed some things being used in the society such as condoms are worse than Marijuana.
