A US rapper severed his own penis and testicles and then jumped off the second floor of a downtown building, Los Angeles Police confirmed, in what is believed to be a desperate suicide attempt.
The rapper, Andre Johnson, who is variously known as ‘Chirst Bearner’ and performs as a duo under the banner North Star, is now in a critical condition as medics try to repair the self inflicted damage.
Police normally are reticent with such information but did confirm the graphic account that was corroborated by the rapper’s near neighbour who told TMZ that “they were not on any hard drugs that would do such a thing”.
The rapper is affiliated with the New York city ‘Wu-Tang Clan' hip hop group ran around incoherently after slicing off his penis before jumping from the second floor balcony, the LA. Times reports.
While on the pavement he succeeded in standing up and running around before collapsing in a critical condition, witnesses said.
Doctors would not confirm any further details but police are investigating if this was a drug trip gone wrong or a deliberate suicide attempt.
He is currently being treated at a nearby hospital.
